About The Conference

India's public health is rapidly changing as a result of changing socio-economic determinants, disease patterns, nutrition and changing demographics. The 13th Annual Conference of the Indian Health Economics and Policy Association (IHEPA), in collaboration with IIT Mandi, will discuss issues in health, nutrition and well-being with a focus on ageing, mental health and climate change. The conference will bring together researchers, policymakers and practitioners to exchange views through oral presentations in addition to keynote addresses from leading experts.
The discussions will focus on evidence-based policy, programme evaluation, innovative financing, technology and multisectoral collaborations aimed at advancing inclusive, equitable and sustainable health systems across the lifespan.

Pre-conference Workshops

There will be two pre-conference workshops, spanning over two days, which will be held in parallel sessions. Each workshop will be limited to 25 participants and will be conducted by leading experts as resource persons. The workshop will be conducted on 10 and 11 December 2025 at IIT Mandi. The authors should submit an extended abstract (900-1000 words). The full-length paper will be submitted by the authors upon selection of the abstract before the given date.

Any change in the last date will be indicated on the website.

Notification of acceptance of abstract: 30 October 2025

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

The conference invites extended abstracts based on original research. Abstracts should be limited to a maximum of 900–1000 words, and include the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion (references are excluded from the word limit).

Full-length papers should adhere to the journal template, which will be made available on the conference webpage shortly.


Submit Extended Abstract

Registrations

At least one author of each accepted paper/abstract must register in order for the submitted work to be included in the conference for presentations. Registration fees include food and accommodation for the conference days, conference gala dinner, and the registration kit. Registration for the conference is mandatory for all.

Participants may submit their accommodation preference while submitting their registration form. Hostel accommodation is complementary with the registration fee. Guest house accommodation will be booked on a payment basis (if available) as per the institute norms. As we have a limited number of guest rooms, only a few people can be accommodated based on first-come, first-served.

How to reach:

BY ROAD:

Mandi is well connected by road. One can reach Mandi by a 6 hour road journey from Chandigarh that is at distance of 200 km. Regular Volvo overnight bus service is also available from ISBT (Kashmiri Gate), New Delhi to Mandi. The journey takes 10-12 hours. Shimla, Pathankot, Dharamsala, Kullu and Manali are all connected to Mandi by road. Mandi is situated at the centre of Himachal Pradesh. All buses passing from north to south and from east to west in Himachal Pradesh touch Mandi.


BY AIR:

The nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu) about 57 km from IIT Mandi Campus. Flights are available from New Delhi and Chandigarh (subject to weather conditions).


BY RAIL:

The nearest railway stations are Joginder Nagar and Shimla by narrow gauge train, Chandigarh and Kalka by broad gauge train which are connected by regular bus service to Mandi. From Pathankot the narrow-gauge railway connects Joginder Nagar, which is 55 km from Mandi via road.
